Direct Digital Controls (DDC)
The Direct Digital Controls is the heart of all Leis systems. This includes meticulous temperature control with plumbing to cool/heat air in HVAC as well as round-the-clock sensors for building fire safety. As a DDC intern you will find yourself looking at physical building electrical systems in addition to utilizing CAD modeling software to design the most optimal electrical systems a job may require.

HVAC - Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning
In Hawaii's hot and tropical climate it takes a lot to cool down an entire building. That's where the HVAC department comes in. In this department, we utilize large metal ducts, coolant systems and air filtration to cool down buildings and filter the air. These complex systems are required by law in most buildings and require a team of experienced engineers.

Fire Sprinkler

We all use water in our daily lives. Whether it be for cooking, washing our hands or even flushing the toilet, water has become a common household commodity. But there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get the water all the way to your faucet. We design vast networks of pipes that span throughout entire buildings to make sure that every unit on every floor has access to fresh, clean, water.

Fire Alarm
Everyone knows what a fire alarm is. Fire alarm systems are a crucial part of fire protection systems throughout the world. They alert tenants, facilities managers as well as the local Fire Department that there is an emergency. At DDL we make sure that alarm systems operate properly in addition to installing the building-wide systems. Every building need fire alarms and we're the ones that make it happen.

Fire Sprinkler
As a fire spreads through a space it destroys everything. Our fire sprinkler team provides decades of experience in engineering, consulting, design and installation to prevent that. Q: Will transportation be provided?
A: No transportation will be provided to and from DDL.
Q: What do I need to complete prior to working at DDL?
A: If accepted, you will need to complete an Employment Application which includes a W-4 and I-9 as well as a drug test administered by Diagnostic Laboratory Services Inc.
Q: What age do I need to be to intern there?
A: You must be 16 years or older to work at DDL.
Q: What are the minimum and maximum hours I can work each week?
A: There are no minimum hour requirements, but the maximum hours you can work is 18.
